Mt Kenya Region.

The Mount Kenya region is a vast land which covers a considerable percentage of the Nyeri County, and constituency. The mountain was formerly discovered as a volcanic mountain which is dormant and not likely to erupt. This is one of the safety conditions which ensure that land has a consistent way of supporting heavy rainfall and a green environment. The lower areas of mount Kenya are secured using high power and electrical energy which helps to protect wildlife from poachers and prevent wild animals from moving outside the National Park. There are very many rocks and hills to trudge before reaching the most chilly areas and parts of the mountain.

Most of the trees which grow in the mountain are green and leafy. They are called heavy rain forests geographically. These grow naturally and bear fruits and form the shelter for the wild animals. Apes and leopards find the places very safe and comfortable for them even to bring up the youngsters. Without all these features, it would not be part of the Kenya’s leading income earner, administered by the Kenya Wildlife Service and Magical Kenya. Rain consistently falls to support and growth of vegetation from the mountain areas. Mount Kenya forms beautiful cloud shapes on top to about a vertical distance of 1000 m above the lower grounds.

The government of Kenya has developed infrastructure to make the place very much accessible by travellers and wealthy tourists from abroad. There have been very much efforts to help the environment have strong soils with very much nutrients. Animal waste, wood, pastures and mangroves stems are released on the ground by the legal inhabitants to form nutritious manure for regrowing of germinating seedlings. These seedlings drop onto the ground once apes have fed on fruits incompletely, while others are carried away by wind on the grass. This results to redistribution of varieties of trees from one point to another.

On streams, heavier rainfalls make the rivers flow faster to the lower parts of Mount Kenya. Trees have long tap roots whose branches are adapted to growing towards the water at the river beds. The river beds are usually muddy, while very many insects have to continue doing pollination over the land. Huge swarms of bees fly all over in search of water and sugarly nectars from flowers. Mist rises every morning from the ground and sun rises to increase evaporation and photosynthesis. Without the photosynthesis, the are would have had possessed a different colour from which that is always seen.

A small area of Nyeri Constituency would have a wide variety of plants which grow to compete against the available nutrients. Most of them are weeds and grass. Beasts have to feed on them to grow big and increase the population in the land. Antelopes have to feed on green grass and be ready for a kill from carnivorous animals. Wild cats not even the big cats, have a satisfying big population of mice and squirrels. When heavy rains reach the rain season, ice falls on the ground in huge amounts while this keeps some animals away from the national parks. Until complete fencing is done, some apes have to escape the park to leave for quiet places where less lighting is taking place.
